Letter to Chairman of ESHRE

 

Dear Professor Carlos Calhaz-Jorge,

 

We are writing to you as the Chair of the ESHRE Executive Committee on behalf of the Ukrainian Association of Reproductive Medicine to convey tragic and devastating news. It is with deep sadness that we inform you of the untimely passing of Vitalii Synenko, a brilliant Ukrainian embryologist, pediatrician, and esteemed member of ESHRE. Vitalii lost his life on May 16th on the battlefield while courageously attempting to save the lives of the wounded compatriots. His selfless actions truly exemplify the qualities of a hero and a dedicated doctor.

 

The loss of Vitalii is an immense blow to our entire community, and we are driven to ensure that his memory is honored and his achievements as an embryologist and researcher are shared with colleagues beyond Ukraine. His research work focused on enhancing our understanding of health of children conceived with assisted reproductive technologies. Vitalii's contributions are significant not only within Ukraine but also on a global scale, as well-being of children and happiness of their parents are common aspirations within the field of reproductive medicine.

 

Therefore, we kindly seek your permission to dedicate stands at common areas and poster sessions during this year's ESHRE conference to commemorate the memory of our esteemed ESHRE member, Vitalii Synenko. This gesture will enable us to showcase his remarkable work and pay tribute to his invaluable contributions.
